    When it activates, block is always a 50% reduction. The gear for block stat is simply increasing the percent chance you have of blocking the incoming damage.

    Not too sure about tough though other than it is an immediate damage reduction for any hit. Whether it stacks with the damage reduction from blocked attacks though. That's something I'm also hoping those who are more informative will help us understand.

    Tough reduces pure percentage of dmg (phy or mgc depends on what you equipped) you will receive. Too bad I tried it on my dps not tank so im not sure of when dmg got blocked.

    toughness = direct cut of the dmg done.....aka....dmg reduction
    block = 50% of the dmg done

    in a way.....if you have 50% toughness = 100% block rate.....

    in this sense.....you would have thought that.....
    "if so.....why should i get block then? it would be so much better if i just use p/m toughness"

    this is because
    1. some heroes need block to sync with their skills.....for example.....clause n morrah......these heroes need block to active their passive skills.
    2. both p/m toughness n p/m blocks have limits....so if you wanna invest in just 1 type of defensive mechanism...which is the p/m toughness or the block....then you will lose some stats due to the filteration system....

    defensive mechanism in King's Raid is divided into 3....
    1st. toughness / dmg reduction
    2nd. blocks
    3rd. def

    which one active first doesn't matter.....because we dont even know how atk vs def works in this game.....so....no biggie....also....which one of the toughness or blocks active first also doesn't matter.....because the result still the same....
    calculation :

    dmg = 100
    toughness = 15%
    block = 50%

    100- 15% = 85 - 50% = 42.5
    100 - 50% = 50 - 15% = 42.5

    the game doesnt show us the calculation for the atk - def.....so no matter how hard you think of it....you cant really know how exactly you gonna be hit.....
    but....the real challenge is to balance every single defensive mechanism you got for your tanker.....
    its better not to go over 50% of toughness n blocks cause it is a waste......instead.....you might wanna look for p/m def.....

    What about P/M Block Def? Pretty sure there is such a rune as well other than P/M Dodge/Block/Tough.

    P/M Block Def increases the damage reduction on a successful block from 50% to whatever your modified stat is with the runes equipped.

    A little clarification for those who don't understand the difference between Physical (P) Tough, Magic (M) Tough, P.block, M.block, P. block Def, M.Block Def, P.Defense, M. Defense, and also Dodge; along with the Damage Received priority list.

    1st: Dodge Check
    - All dmg or no dmg
    (Accuracy Counters)

    2nd: Block Check
    - All dmg or half dmg
    *Block is never 100%, and some attacks are unblockable*
    2.5: Block Def Check
    - IF Block is successful, Block Def is an additional
    reduction of the remaining dmg.
    *If Block isn't activated Block Def does nothing*
    3rd: Defense
    -Reduces the amount of dmg received after block.
    (Can be reduced or ignored altogether)

    4th: Toughness
    -Reduces the amount of dmg received after all other variables are calculated.
    *Tough stats only available on Runes*

    Note: Block Defense scales better than Toughness. This is due to Block being a chance, and Toughness is guaranteed reduction.

    Penetration lowers PDef or MDef for the purposes of all these calculations.
